OpenMeetings.org is run and operated as a sole proprietorship by George Chriss.  The project [[OMwiki:Submissions|welcomes submission]] of recorded, open-to-the-public meetings for the purpose of being transcribed and annotated by volunteer editors.  Note that all content and software tools are free/libre as detailed on [[OMwiki:Copyrights|Copyrights]].

The domain name was registered on 7-June-2009 and hosts a [http://metavid.org/wiki/MetaVidWiki MetaVidWiki] instance known as "[[Main Page|OMwiki]]".  (MetaVidWiki is an extension of [http://semantic-mediawiki.org/ Semantic MediaWiki].)  Upcoming OMwiki features include a mailing list, thumbnail preview support (contingent upon donations), and the creation of a basic internal structure. 

As of June 2009, the collection consists of 40 meetings pertaining to shared governance at The Pennsylvania State University.  The meetings are hosted on the Internet Archive and are available for [http://tinyurl.com/psu-meetings browsing and/or download.]  The vast majority of the content is non-transcribed, although official minutes may be available.
