Q: What meetings are available?
A: As of July 2009, the collection consists of 41 meetings pertaining to shared governance at The Pennsylvania State University and 15 recordings from the Open Video Conference. Oodles of additional meetings from the Open Video Conference and Wiki-Conference 2009 are pending.

All meetings are hosted on the Internet Archive and are available for browsing and/or download. The vast majority of the content is non-transcribed, although official minutes may be available. Integration of meta-information layers (e.g., Identi.ca streams) and language translation layers is pending.

Q: What's the story behind the logo?
A: The logo is adopted from a 19th century Caligraph ad published by The American Writing Machine Co., as "Type Writer" was a Remington brand name at the time. The ad reads:

The "CALIGRAPH" is the only writing machine that fully economizes time and labor, and economy of time and labor is the best reason we know for soliciting trade.

"OPEN MEETINGS" has been substituted via GIMP and Inkscape for the original lettering of "CALIGRAPH". The logo is not trademarked and represents more of a methodology than a brand identity.

Q: Is there a way to view video using native playback in Safari?
A: Yes! Please install XiphQT, which also provides export to Ogg Theora from any QuickTime-based application.

Q: What about iPhone support?
A: You will be able to view wikipages and transcripts, but video playback and JavaScript-based navigation are not implemented. Additionally, device bandwidth is not sufficient to load the visual finding aid.

Q: I'm having bandwidth issues.
A: High-speed internet connections originating from Penn State University, Pittsburgh, Virgina, Washington D.C., and surrounding areas should have excellent connectivity. Visitors outside of this core coverage area may experience slower-than-realtime playback; options including server geo-distribution, local seek from pre-downloaded meetings, and audio-only playback are under evaluation.
